As a business traveler I am on the road almost 3 weeks out of every 4. I ahve high standards and a lot of experience, and Nevsky Forum was perfect - everything was stylish, functional and well-thought out. Great central location (walked from train station) but quiet. Great food. Lovely staff, all of them. Spacious well organized room - little things matter to me. How many hotels have I been to where you have to unplug a lamp to plug in your laptop at the desk? Not here...there are 2 available plugs at the desk! Constant wifi. Even a welcome drink. I would definitely come back and make that recommendations to all. Could not find a fault.

I chose this hotel on the strength of very positive reviews on tripadvisor. An attractive price offer also helped my choice. In the week before arrival, frequent emailing by me to the hotel always met with a prompt & helpful response. Transfer from airport was smoothly arranged. A friendly welcome awaited my arrival and no time was lost in showing me to my room (404). The room was very clean & modern, absolutely acceptable - with good TV facilities and roomsafe, minibar, etc. I had no laptop with me, but could freely use a PC conveniently situated at reception. I ate all my evening meals in the hotel and was not disappointed once - both choice and price were attractive, the latter no more than I would pay at home. Many of the reviews on this website compliment the staff on their dedication to friendly & efficient service. I would agree with that 100%, whether we speak of the carrying of suitcases, the bar/restaurant service, the cleaning of rooms or the always smiling & helpful ladies on reception - the fact they spoke impeccable English was a huge boon for me. I enjoyed a very interesting week in this city itself, but always enjoyed returning at the end of the day to this warm & friendly community. Contrary to a view expressed by an earlier reviewer, I found all the major attractions I wished to visit to be within reach - Peter & Paul Fortress, Finland Railway Station, Aurora, Winter Palace & Hermitage, Smolny Institute, etc. - AND I walked on foot to all of them. If that had not appealed to me, there was a Metro station very close by. I will finish by saying that any return trip with friends or family would certainly be to this welcoming haven in a city of some 5 million people. All in all, a very pleasant stay!

It was my first winter-time stay in St. Petersburg and I was at a loss in deciding where to go. Based on the reviews of this very website, I finally opted for this hotel right on the Nevsky Prospect. I was not disappointed and I would certainly recommend this place to anyone, especially for the continuous efforts of the young, friendly and competent staff.
The hotel is very well organised: when you contact them on their website they would really be prepared to make an effort to answer to all of your queries. I can be very fastidious at times, but they never blinked at my (perhaps too many requests) and made sure to answerer patiently and competently to all of them.
On arrival they were happy to organise airport pick-up. That went smoothly. On arrival at the hotel they were friendly and efficient at reception, so we went straight to our room. Spacious, but really a "no frills" room, but you really get everything you may really need.
Once you are settled in, you want to make the most of your trip to this wonderful and historic town. Do not expect the reception staff - nice and smiling young boys and girls that they are - to be creative in suggesting you itineraries in this beautiful and charming city, though. However, if you care to give them some hints so that they can get started, they would not spare any effort to help you.
As I mentioned earlier, rooms are spacious but a bit basic. The same can be said for breakfast: plentiful but not entirely satisfactory - even if, and this goes to their credit, they are prepared to accept your impromptu orders. I only rate them 4 out of 5 only because I found this hotel to be a bit pricey, also in respect of its location: Nevsky Prospect is a very long avenue, and they are far away from all the landmark sites. But for what they lack in location they make up in good and friendly service, so it is a place that I would consider for future trips.

We stay here 3 night for working. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The location is excellent - on Nevsky prospect, within walking distance of the Moscow Train Station. Food was very good. Rooms were very clean, bed very comfortable, free Wifi worked well and was easy to access. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.

We visited the hotel for two weeks, for New Year. It was a very nice time, but the trip was very strenuous. We were received very friendly. Our rooms were clean and big. The WLAN in our room was very practical. The staff was very polite to us, we will miss them very much. Food in New Year was very extensive and tasty!
However, the breakfast needed getting used to OK. There is still a lot of potential. There was no choice of tasty bread rolls. The coffeemaker was defective once and should be renewed anyway, because of the taste. And the toaster should be substituted with a better one.
But, otherwise, there is nothing to complain. Continues please in such a way.
Your friends from Germany.

I will certainly get in touch with you directly, next time i travel to St. Petersburg and will advise my friends to stay at your hotel too. Before i leave feedback on booking.com, i'd apprecaite it if we can sort out this freaking taxi fee

Very nice people, good complimentary breakfast, but the only English tv stations are a few couple of news channels (for those where tv is important during down time). It could use some renovation, but overall a good experience, but far from the Marriott.

I stayed at this hotel with my 3 year old daughter and everyone was very friendly. The room (203) was spacious and had plenty of storage with good, modern facilities - free wifi was a huge bonus. The metro (Mayakovskya) was a few steps away and a good selection of shops and resturants abound. The only negative for me was that the hotel resturant did not have a very wide choice of snacks etc which would appeal to children (spagbol etc) but they did try very hard to accommodate us where possible. It is very quiet which is a surprise as it is so centrally - but without doubt it is the friendly and very helpful staff that make this the ideal place to stay for any purpose!

Of course we'd enjoyed the stay in your hotel very much! It was an unforgetable New Year in St. Petersburg!!! We've already made many suggestions of your hotel to a lot of my friends and also a journal I've working for! Also I wrote a short summary to the TripAdvisor! Thank you again and stay as you are in St. Petersburg! If we'll come to St. Petersburg - we'll come to the Newsky Forum Hotel!

Nice, clean hotel in a great central location, literally 10 metres from the Metro station on Nevisky Prospekt... friendly, helpful staff, efficient room service and they also make a pretty awesome bowl of Borsch!
The windows are triple glazed so it's fine to get a room overlooking Nevsky Prospect but if it's a weekend maybe choose one at the back and on the top floor to avoid hearing loud music from the restaurant below.

Just returned from a week in St Petersburg that was magical, largely because we chose to stay here. All the staff, from the manager to the cleaners, were welcoming and efficient. English was spoken on reception and by restaurant/breakfast staff. They even gave us a little gift on Christmas Day (even though their Christmas isn't till January). We overlooked Nevsky Prospect which meant we saw the Christmas Day parade from the comfort of the room. Speaking of comfort, the bed, temp control of the room and the bathroom (big shower, underfloor heating) were all really good.
Not only is the hotel close to the metro (practically in the same building) but there are many and frequent buses which take you direct to the hermitage and (at rush hour) a combination of metro and bus will take you anywhere. It's a good idea to get to grips with public transport as taxis often aren't available at rush hour.
The breakfast includes a range of breads, savoury and sweet items, fruit and any part of the breakfast menu cooked to order. We appreciated this flexible approach. We also ate well in the bar (towards the end of the year the restaurant was often closed for private parties) and our only objection is that smoking is still permitted. As others have mentioned, there are plenty of good restaurants, cafes and bars within walking distance and you really feel you're at the heart of the city. Great value for money and highly recommended.

I stayed in Nevsky Forum for 3 nights, which was a good experince. The location of the hotel is perfect: Located on Nevksy Prospekt (the most popular street of St. Petersburg.) Hotel is just next to Mayakovskaya metro station on line 3, and close to all major attractions of the city.
The room I stayed was big enough with high ceiling, clean and despite its location on one of the busiest roads in the city the sound isolation was perfect. The A/C does not blow warm, but you my find a portable heater in the room. You receive just enough that a 4star hotel offers: free wi-fi, 24 hours free coffee and water are a plus, except the breakfast. The variety offered in breakfast was limited at least not enough for a mediterranean.
Room Tip: Rooms with street view offers a better a view and larger storage space than backyard rooms.

I was there for three nights on a business trip. Both myself and my colleague found our rooms to be very comforable and clean and the service of the hotel staff was outstanding. The amenities - free wi-fi, breakfast, 24 hour coffee, welcome drink - were great. We had a number of our associates meet us at the hotel in the lobby and appreciated the ability to host them comfortably in the lobby with the blessing of the hotel staff. I'll likely stay here again. Might have cost a bit more but it was worth it.

I really liked this hotel. The location was so perfect. Right on Nevsky Prospect and a few steps from a Metro entrance. I walked from the Train Station and walked to all the attractions. Everything I looked up just happen to be close to the hotel. There are an endless amount of place to eat etc right outside.
The hotel itself was very nice and the nicest rooms I've seen for this level of a hotel. The staff (especially Julia and Maria at the front desk) were so helpful and helped me find my way around and with an errands I had to run.
This was the perfect place to stay for me and I'm super picky!

After a 12-night river cruise, we had one night to spend in a St Petersburg hotel. We selected the Nevsky Forum based on other tripadvisor reviews. Our only complaint was that we could not have stayed longer! The hotel is well located and the English-speaking staff is very friendly and helpful. We were welcomed with a complimentary drink and our breakfast was packed to go due to our early morning flight. The heat in the room was very high, but that seems to be the indoor situation in most places we went. As others have mentioned, it's a little difficult to find the entrance, but once there, it more than exceeded our expectations.

Great location on the main street as others say within walking distance of the main Moscow bound train station and the start of the city bus tour. Next to the Metro as well.
Our room was not huge but more then ample, the shower did go hot and cold a few times but I forgot to mention it to the staff, so can't blame the hotel. Rooms all look new and clean.free decent wi fi as well
English speaking staff were very helpful and arranged transfer which was was all on time etc.
We had breakfast in our rate which was very good given the cost.
I would stay again.

I stayed at Nevksy Forum Hotel for a week, and had a wonderful experience. I booked online through skype from Australia, the website was accurate and informative, and I was able to keep int contact with staff online to confirm airport transfers etc with ease. The hotel had a friendly and modern, comfortable ambiance, and the staff were hepful, very hospitable and welcoming. Great location, and easy walking distance to the metro, and boutiques for shopping! I found the price and quality of accomodation of my stay comporable to what I would have expected to pay here in Melbourne. I loved the free WiFi in the hotel because I could skype and work online...they even had a laptop I could use. Breakfast was wonderful, and I had lunch at LaPresse restaurant in the hotel, which was also great! Dessert was really delicious. I will definitely be using this hotel again, when I return next year. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
I had a deluxe room facing the main street, and did not have a problem sleeping. The room was large enough, with plenty of cupboard space...and the ensuite was clean, and large enough, and had own shower.

This is a very nice hotel in the heart of St. Petersburg on the main street "Nevsky Prospect" within easy walking distance of the main tourist sights. The hotel adjoins a metro station and is approximately 10 minutes walk from the train station for Moscow. The english speaking staff are excellent and were more than willing to help with our lost luggage at the airport, booking train tickets, giving directions, recommending tours, shopping centres, restaurants etc.
The hotel room itself was clean, comfortable and very quiet, if a little on the warm side at night when the air conditioning was not on. There is a buffet and hot menu breakfast to choose from. The dinner menu is also delicious. The hotel also provides tea/coffee, internet and umbrellas in the lobby while one of the most usefull services is an ATM machine!

This hotel is not far from the center, almost it is in the "heart" of Saint Petersburg. Cosy design of rooms, new furniture (very important!). The windows of our room faced to prospect but it was so quite inside. The breakfast wasn't included because it's bloody expensive!)) but there are a lot of caffe, grocery stores in that region (Ligovsky prospect). At least Nevsky prospect is 5 minutes by walk! The receptionists are very friendly and nice.

The exterior is not that great and the aluminium main door is not inviting. The reception is on the 1st floor, after a narrow staircase. Being a small hotel the common spaces are limited but comfortable. We stayed in a superior room and in a design room and they are both nice, especially the design room, that is larger and comfortable. Bathroom floors have a heating system.

But the strong points of this hotel are the staff & the breakfast. The staff does really its best to help you: they sent us free of charge a car to bring us from the airport to the hotel; and also as we wanted to see an Italian soccer match they made the impossible to find out how to see it. They offer tea and coffee every time you sit down in the lounge/common space (where you can smoke) and on thursday there is a free taste of Russian blinis. The breakfast itself is so abundant that it is enough for not eating until it is dinner time! In fact you can choose between various kind of breakfasts (Russian/Continental/English/Vegetarian etc...) that are made to order + serve yourself from the self service table full of salted and sweet food (eggs, blinis, ham, cheese, cereals, milk, yoghurt, fruit, butter, jam, cake etc...). We were really satisfied of this experience.
Choose a design room and make sure that it looks onto the Nevsky prospect, it is an amazing view

Stayed for six nights. Convenient for train travellers: a ~15min walk from Moscow train station in St Petersburg. Location is great, being on Nevsky Prospect with lots of eateries and stores nearby. Room was quiet and spacious, particularly for St Petersburg at this price. Breakfast included in room rate, included choice of hot breakfasts as well as selection of cold breakfast buffet. Service from staff was first class from start to finish. Highly recommended.

The staff at the Nevsky Forum really went out of their way to ensure we had an excellent stay, from start to finish. They arranged for us to be picked up from the ferry docks in a private car, and provided us with complimentary drinks upon arrival. The staff are professional, speak excellent English, and go out of their way to ensure all your needs are met and questions answered. The free breakfast buffet also includes hot eggs, bacon and potatos which are cooked to your ordered preference. Free WiFi in hotel rooms and in common areas. The heated floors in the bathroom are a nice touch. Great location - shopping, metro and bus service are all right there. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a smaller, boutique hotel with great service for English speaking tourists. Rooms facing the back courtyard are quiet both day and night.

The hotel is in the heart of events on Nevsky prospekt and next door do Mayakovskaya metro station. Tne staff is very friendly, which given the Russian average, is a very good and refreshing point! The rooms are clean but somewhat basic - minimizing costs must have been central issue to the project of launching the hotel. All in all in terms of value for money you find better solutions in St Petersburg.

If you are interested in a convienient, efficient, clean, and friendly hotel in central St. Petersburg, this is a good choice. The room is very comfortable and staff is very nice. A few notes: 1) It may be a little hard to find the hotel on your first visit as it is located up a steep staircase with an unimpressive entrance. I stood outside for several minutes before I realized that had actually arrived. However, once you figure this out, all is great. 2) They play American music in the restaurant. I would have prefered Russian music. 3) The windows do not open :-(
However, these are all minor things. All-in-all, it was a great experience.

My family stayed at the Nevsky Forum for 5 nights in June, during the White Nights. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast buffet was great. We had a room at the front, and I was a bit worried that it would be noisy but with the windows closed and the air conditioning on, it was fine. We had no trouble with street noise. We actually had a little balcony, and enjoyed going out there in the evening to watch the passing scene. Everyone is out and about at all hours during the White Nights. The location is terrific, right next to the subway, and a decent walk to a number of sights. If I ever go back to St. Petersburg, I would stay at the Nevsky Forum again. My one disappointment was in the restaurants they recommended. We had better food when we relied on our guidebook.

Very good location on Nevsky; helpfull, friendly and professional staff; very impressing hot a la carte breakfast; fresch and clean rooms; lovely restaurant. Highly advisable both for tourists and business people.
Be aware not to try to climb the scary steps with your luggage, there's an option to enter the hotel from the yard and use the elevator, the staff will help you!
Don't hesitate to ask the receptionist for advise when it comes to siteseeings, restaurants etc. They are really great and speak English without any difficulties.

Price is not bad and quality is good. rooms are well equipped and with new furnitures. to avoid nevsky street noise is better ask room with window on the rear side of building. location of hotel is very good and staff is nice and available to solve any problems. they speak english . breakfast is good and enough but nothing to wonderfull. it is an hotel to consider and probably i will reserve it again.

I want to thank eryone of the Hotel Staff for the most wonderful visit. Everyone that I came in contact with at the hotel from the restaurant staff, the reception, the young man that stands at the top of the stairs to assist travelers with luggage, etc, the lovely lady that kept my room clean and bed made where wonderful, helpful, efficient and went out of their way to answer my questions and assist me in my holiday. I felt, safe, secure, welcomed and in good hands. I was a bit nervous traveling alone to see the great works of art so far from home (Los Angeles, California, USA) but once I arrived did not regret the decision to come to St Petersburg, Russia.
The hotel is in a great location, comfortable, convenient to bus and subway (I used the bus for all local travel) and to be able to start the day with the lovely breakfast was a great start to the daily outings without wasting time.
Their help in arranging car service to and from the airport was most appreciated and lent to another smooth necessity of foreign travel.
Again, thank you and your entire Hotel Staff for assisting me in my long journey to your country I will treasure my memories and adventures!

I travel quite a bit, and have never experienced service like I did at the Nevsky Forum. I chose the hotel based on its great location including proximity to train, metro, and tourist sites, and because its modern design and boutique style are so appealing. After reading the TA and various book reviews, I thought these factors combined with the value was what set it apart as my hotel choice in St. Petersburg.
I didn't count on incredible service that was like no other hotel experience I've ever had. For starters, shortly after booking, the assistant manager reached out to me in Facebook and offered to handle any questions I might have before the trip. As I was traveling with my elderly mother, I had lots for him. Fyodor looked into wheelchairs, transfers, and tours. He advised on visa letters, SIM cards, weather conditions, and websites. We talked about Russian language and literature. Basically, anything I had for him was answered with thoroughness and thoughtfulness.
At check-in, I found that Fyodor was indeed exceptional, but that all of the staff at the Nevsky Forum share his philosophy of attentive but not overbearing service. My mother's suitcase was lost in transit, and the staff took it upon themselves to contact the airline regularly for an ETA so that we could head out to see the city and not have to worry. The desk called my mobile with information as soon as the luggage was found and en route, and brought it to my mother just as soon as it arrived. The desk provided us with SIM cards for our mobiles so we only had to load them up at a nearby mobile store. They arranged dinners and taxis, and generally looked out for us in a low-key and unobtrusive manner throughout out stay.
Fyodor anticipated our needs, and even escorted us personally to the train station upon our departure, as he knew my mother's mobility was limited and he was worried that it would be difficult for us to navigate to the ticket booth. He waited with us until the train departed. Kindness and generosity at every turn!
The hotel is quite nice. The rooms are on the smaller size, yet so well-designed that they seem quite spacious. We loved having a water cooler in the hallway so that we could refill our water bottles without creating more plastic waste for the environment.
The restaurant is very nice and a great value. We had dinner there two nights. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. You have all the ususal buffet options, and can also order hot items like eggs and bacon at no extra charge.
I would recommend the Nevsky Forum for both seasoned travelers and those new to St. Petersburg. The free wifi throughout and nice open spaces makes it great for business travelers as well as tourists.

We were on a family trip with 4 and visited St P for 2 days. Than Nevsky is a good place to stay. Dont forget that Nevsky is a very long road and take the bus if you have luggage. Our rooms at the hotel were very large and the bathrooms were good and very clean. If you want to sleep with open windows you should ask for a room on the backsite.
We enjoyed the stay and the wonderful service.

A clean and welcoming hotel.
Staff very friendly and helpful, especially Margaritta in reception who speaks excellent english and is only too happy to help you teach a few basic words of Russian. Take up the hotel on the offer of their transfers from the airport, well worth the money for a safe arrival.
We found St Petersburg a safe place to visit but it was very expensive to eat out and not particulaly worth the money. The queues at the Hermitage were horrendous (like Disney World at their worst times), make sure you book on line and go directly to the information desk to pick up your entry ticket rather than getting in line with everyone else!
Ask for a courtyard room if you want to get any sleep as Nevesky Prospect is a very busy street.

We stayed Nevsky Forum Hotel this weekend. We are group of old parents (60's) and a family with two small kids (3 years old and 1 year old). They offered me a two different rooms which is very close and very suitable for my parents and for my family. We arrived at hotel very late but the staff there was so kind and helpful, even my parents asked them to change the bed from kingsized to twin, they managed very quickly.
I was very much impressed that they prepared a present for my kid. Before we will be arrived at hotel, they called my mobile and asked me if they need to prepare some food or drink for kids. I said nothing is inneed, but they prepared a present and daughter was so much excited with that present. And one more thing I was very much impressed that they prepared the flag of Japan and Russia in the room and message was written in Japanese. My old parents from Japan were very moved with that hospitality.
Breakfast is good. Room is very clean and enough space for four of us ( it was designer's room). Only the problem I think was they had a wedding party at their hotel restaurant at Saturday night and it was too noisy to sleep at night. The entrance is quite small and only stairs. Should have known that lift is on the side (we didn't know that so it was quite tough to bring all the belongings up and two kids by ourselves).
Location is OK, very close to Moscow station and Mayakovskaya metro station. I will recommend my friends who will visit Petersurg. Of couse, I will be back again!

Through Booking.Com I filled out an appreciation questionnaire on your Hotel. Our impression was excellent, especially the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel and the location plus the value for money - breakfast was excellent too. If I come back to St. Petersburg I will definitely stay in your hotel and I would recommend it to others. Thank you for making our trip so memorable.

I stayed in Nevsky Forum for one week, starting from 24th july 2011.
The location of the Hotel was great, on the Nevsky Prospect, close to tube and bus stations, shops, a pharmacy, restaurants... The staff of the hotel was friendly and always willing to help you with calling taxis, installing free internet on your laptop, printing out your boaring pass... The breakfast of the hotel was good but not great. In the evening you could have a nice dinner in the restaurant 'La Presse'.
I had a great stay in the hotel!

Located right on Nevsky Prospekt and steps from a Metro station, it's a great home base for exploring St. Petersburg.
The hotel is pretty small. The clean comfortable rooms are served by a single, tiny elevator that would not accommodate two people AND their luggage.
The staff are very friendly and eager to help. We found them to be a great resource for advice about sightseeing, or practical logistics, like finding a nearby supermarket or post office (both are very close).
I would definitely recommend Nevsky Forum to friends bound for St. Petersburg.

In St. Petersburg I and my wife stayed in hotel Oktyaberskaya first. It was the worst hotel I 've ever seen. Reservation was for two days. We had to stay one more day an we tried to extand our reservation. The reseptionist told us that all rooms were sold. Then I looked for an hotel on the street Nevsky. I entered your hotel and God sand us an angel called Julia. First she presented your hotel in a best way. She made one day reservation. She also arranged our plane ticket back to our contry. The quality and understanding of your workers changed our negative expression about St. Petersburg and Julia made us feel Russian hospitality. Thanks to Nevsky Forum.
And thank you Julia. Please call us if you come to Antalya. I hope you steel have my mobile.

We travelled to Saint Petersburg by overnight train, and upon arrival found our room was already available for early check-in. The staff spoke fluent English and was quite friendly and helpful. We stayed in the suite — and while a bit more expensive, it was a treat to have the jacuzzi and extra space to relax after a day of exploration. We attended two ballets during our stay, and the director of the hotel drove us to the first ballet!!! I don't know why, and it was a wonderufl treat but made us feel a wee bit uncomfortable — who were we to get such treatment?!
The hotel restaurant Le Presse featured a perfect breakfast combination of buffet and custom order, as well as being a pleasant place to dine after the day's activities.
Saint Petersburg is her favorite city, and we will be returning. There are many nice hotels, but I could not recommend any over the Nevsky Forum. I would be happy to stay here again! Room Tip: We stayed in Suite 408; loved it! There is suite on the third floor too, but the balcony is closed. You won't miss it.

All amenities and services available and provided are equal or better than most hotels anywhere. I am referring to the needs of those who do not require "conferencing capabilities" since this is a small hotel (the "boutique" category in my opinion). We stayed there between June 30 and July 3 when it was quite hot in town; the A/C worked exceptionally well and provided us with a good and cool night sleep. Although the hotel is located in a very busy and noisy area (i.e., very heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Nevsky Prospekt - the main "drag" in town) our room was so quiet, we didn't hear a thing once the doornwas closed. Staff was very helpful and all speak English. We were happy with this hotel and this contributed to a very successful 3 days vacation in St Petersburg.

Sometimes I don't trust the reviews on tripadvisor, but for the Nevsky Forum they are on target. The location is great on Nevsky Prospect right next to the metro. We went in June so the street was very busy, Despite that and having a room in the front, the room was very quiet. The suite was pleasant and comfortable for 3 of us. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Definitely a good place to stay in an expensive city.

Stayed here for just over a week recently when in St Petersburg for a meeting. The hotel is in a good position relative to the metro station (it's only about 2 doors from Mayakovskaya) but it's important to note it is at the 'wrong' end of Nevsky Prospekt relative to the main attractions eg Hermitage, Cathedral of Spilled Blood etc. I was here with a group of friends, and most were staying at the other end of Nevsky. This meant most of our gatherings were at their end of Nevsky Prospekt and therefore I spend a lot of time walking up and down. Cabs were easy to hail to run you up or down the street but the pricing was so arbitrary (anywhere between 200-500 rubles, both of these being overpriced). You could take a metro half way up Nevsky Prospekt but in the end I just walked. My own choice. It's a good walk with lots of shops etc on the way.
The hotel itself was good. The rooms were cosy and quite spacious. Housekeeping was excellent and as usual it was the little things I appreciated - free wifi, bottle of water a day.
My only gripe was the room security. The swipe cards had the name of the hotel AND the room number printed on them. Normally I wouldn't have thought twice about this, however on our first night in St Petersburg my friend was mugged and lost his wallet, phone and watch. I then got to thinking that if this had happened to me, the muggers could have quite easily cleaned out my room before I got back. I did ask for a card without the room number printed on it but unfortunately they didn't have any, so I resorted to leaving my swipe card at reception every time i went out. Slightly paranoid, yes, but at least I didn't have to keep worrying I had been pick pocketed and my things were being rummaged through.
The safe in the room also needs attention. It was not bolted down, and was simply sitting on the window sill so if someone had gained access to my room, they could have just tucked it under their arm and walked off.
Those two minor gripes aside, I was very happy in this hotel. For me, the most important thing in the hospitality industry is exactly that - hospitality. The staff were wonderful, in particular Margarita at the front desk and Alexander the security guard.
If I return to St Petersburg I would stay here again, but do implore the hotel managers to reconsider some minor potential security issues.

First I must say I found the staff outstanding. From picking us up at the airport and throughout our stay. I can honestly say they went out of their way to accomodate us. Our rooms were always clean as was the hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect and within walking distance to the Hermitage. St. Petersburg and I celebrate the same birthday, May 27th. Margarita presented me with a book on St. Petersburg and the Le Presse presented me with cake. All I can say is, it is a wonderful place to stay if you ever decide to visit St. Petersburg.
Thank you so much Nevsky Forum!

Once we got over the beige decor, we enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and quiet, not large but big enough, the restaurant is good and the breakfast really sets you up for the day, reception was professionally welcoming and the location of the hotel is just perfect! Walking distance to tourist sites, metro next door, restaurants and coffee shops all around as well as shopping. I was pleased with my choice!

We booked this hotel based on previous reviews on trip advisor and were not disappointed. The rooms were amazing in size and comfortable for the 3 of us. The location could not be better, right on the Nevsky Forum strip with the Metro two doors away. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and the breakfast menu was extensive. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants good rooms and a great location.

The position is excellent. Virtually next to a metro station, about 30 min walking distance to the Hermitage. the hotel is situated in the heart of old St Petersburg. There is an elevator to ground level. The restaurant food is tasty and very reasonably priced. Service was very good. Checkin was easy as the staff speak English. They are very obliging.
Our room was spotless. There is airconditioning, a fridge and very comfortable beds. Free wi-fi is available. Shower is nice and strong and shampoo, body lotion is provided. Complimentary bottles of drinking water are provided daily. One quirk was the safe. It sits on the window sill but is not fixed to anything. Still, it did its job! Breakfast is very ample - think eggs, meats, cheese, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, juices, beverages, etc.
Overall, a very pleasant experience indeed. If we ever return to St Petersburg - a most beautiful city - we would definitely stay here again.

The staff at Nevsky Forum were very kind and helpful, even to the point of offering to go look for a specific bottle of vodka for me!! They were also very helpful in answering all my emails, especially with respect to the Tourist Visa.
The hotel is very clean, and although the room was a little on the small side, had everything we needed.
Nevsky Forum is very centrally located, close to bus and metro and we will most definitely recommend this hotel and return when we can.

The hotel location is very good to walk to most attractions. The hotel staff at the reception desk speaks reasonable to good English, depending on who is there, but the rest of the staff, despite being very helpful, speaks no English. The gentleman that helps with the luggage is very efficient and courteous, despite his little English. The rooms are very clean and properly furnished. There is free wi-fi in the hotel, but it did not work in my room, so we had to go to the reception to use it.
Access from the street to the reception is made through two flights of stairs off Nevsky Prospect, which may represent a problem to people with limited mobility. There is an elevator from the reception to the other floors. The elevator may also be used from the ground floor to haul luggage up, but access from the street to that floor is controlled. The hotel offers mineral water coolers in every floor as well as a very convenient ATM near the reception, which is a nice touch. Breakfast is adequate, but not outstanding, but, as I like porridge, I was happy with it.
I travelled with friends that used four different rooms in the hotel and they were satisfied. Mine was the only one where the wi-fi connection did not work. In general, hotels in St Petersburg cost more than in other European capitals for what they are. I found this to be the case with Nevsky Forum, but I would stay there again, simply because I believe that other hotels there would also be relatively overpriced. I would rate the hotel as a 3 1/2 star place in other European capitals, but not a four star. Maybe one must understand that St Petersburg is still a city in transition with evolving services for international tourists, but still below the standards of most European capitals. Having said that, my congratulations to the management and staff and the Nevsky Forum for their efforts to offer the best they can at this time.

Perfect location, spacy room, clean bathroom (albeit small), nice restaurant, friendly staff (very basic English, but in Russia any level of English is a treasure..). What else would one want as a temporary base for visiting this amazing city?

After arriving on the early morning train from Moscow, the short (5 minutes) walk to Nevsky Forum was a real bonus. What a treat to be greeted by pleasant staff who allowed us to check in at such an early hour, and to enjoy the amazing breakfast that is provided.
Our three night stay was very enjoyable. All staff were helpful and friendly. The room we had (203) was much larger than we expected. The bathroom was clean and efficient, with an excellent modern shower. After checking out, the staff were only too happy to store our luggage as we spent our last day in beautiful St. Petersburg. Again, the short walk back to the Moscow train station was so convenient.

Behind of a hidden door in the main street, we discovered a Treasure..Nevsky Forum Hotel. Excellent location, mainly if you came from Train Station from Moscow with some heavy trolleys.
Wi-fi free in rooms and lobby is a great value for me, because I can send e-mails to my family.
Excellent buffet breakfast included fresh fruit.
The Staff is marvellous people... specially Margarita... plenty of patient with us who don't speak russian and we have an english something...rusty¡¡ Thank you for your attention and thank you for recommended the Tsar Restaurant. We ate in a lovely place with a moderate prize. We never forgotten it.
I highly reccommended this Hotel for everybody, couples, singles or families for the excellent ratio quality/prize , for the excellents accomodities and overall, for his friendly Staff.

Ideally located in the centre of the town on Nevsky avenue, near the underground station. Good value for money, ideal for business travelers, comfortable bed, nice casual restaurant, friendly staff. It is a mini hotel but the service is almost as good as in larger chains. Would definitely stay there on my next trip.
Did not like the windows being completely sealed in my room, without the chance to open them to get some fresh air. Suppose this has something to do with the sound insulation as the room was facing Nevsky street which has hard traffic around the clock.
Room Tip: Stayed in room 305, quite spacious one.

This hotel is in a great location, right on the main street of the city, half-way down. Don't be put off by the entrance and stairway. Once upstairs the hotel has real charm.
We were lucky enough to have a very quiet room at the back. The restaurant offered a good eastern-european breakfast, buffet or menu, and the Businessman's Lunch was excellent value at 330 roubles (At the time of our visit about 7.50 GB pounds) We realised that this was the cheapest way to eat, allowing us to sample Russian dishes at a fraction of the cost of an evening meal (About 2000 roubles for two, including coffee).
The staff in the restaurant all spoke some English and the reception staff were really helpful and friendly. They gave help with visa applications prior to our visit. The staff provided us with a very helpful What's on booklet and a map.
The bed was comfortable and the shower room had plenty of hot water. the room was very clean and had a TV with English news.

A lovley small and cosy place to stay in st. petersburg. It is a short way from the metro and railway station. You can see quite a lot of sightseeings nearby on walking. The welcome is very friendly .They do give you a help whatever you need.
The great thing is - if you like Jazz, chilling music you are right in this hotel. In the evening the have live music in the small restaurant "la presse". Breakfast is good sorted and dinner was perfect. Rooms are clean and big enough. The rooms to the backyards are very quiet - the view is not really amazing but anyway you stay in the room just to get your sleep! I would stay again in this hotel.

The service was very friendly and helpful. We didn't hear any noise to our room although the hotel is located by the main street. Our view was to the back yard so it was very quiet. The breakfest is very good; a normal brunch, but you also get to choose a little morning meal (fitness version with fruits, american with scramble eggs etc.). Only negative we can come up is the smell of cigarettes (in Russia you can smoke anywhere). We will choose this hotel next time again.

We could have spent much more money and stayed down the street at a fancier hotel- but why? The Nevsky Forum is very convenient (metro stop practically next door), and it was very easy to walk to many major attractions.
It was very clean, shower was strong and hot, radiant floor heating the bathroom was great. Towels were a bit skimpy, but this was made up for by bathrobes. WiFi worked fine. We would stay here again.
